Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor
continuing medical education for physicians.
The American College of Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.0 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that s/he actually spent in the educational activity.

A document (card) verifying successful completion of
the ATLSŪ Student Course is provided to
each
doctor who successfully completes the course. This document and
the
individual's student status are valid for 4 years from the date of
issue
(last day of the Student Course). To maintain a current status in
the ATLSŪ Program, the Committee on Trauma recommends that these
individuals
successfully complete a Student Refresher-type Course or retake the
entire
ATLSŪ Student Course every 4 years.
The Student Refresher Course is a half-day designed for individuals who successfully completed an ATLSŪ Student Course 4 years previously.
Prerequisites
Individuals whose ATLSŪ provider status
is current through six months lapsed at the time of the Student
Refresher Course may enroll and participate in a Student Refresher
Course. Auditing a Student
Refresher
Course is not permitted.
