awarded.
Students who
complete
the course may receive a participation card from the American Heart
Association, but this is not the formal "CPR card" that would satisfy
most workplace or healthcare CPR requirements.
Description
This course is designed to meet the needs
of the
general
public. It may also be suitable for middle- and high school
students who want CPR training, but don't need a formal CPR credential.
It is not intended for formal CPR certification to meet
employment, professional, or regulatory requirements. This
approximately 2.5-hour course covers recognizing and rescuing victims
of all ages who need CPR or are choking. Students
should dress for practice on training
manikins.
Some of this practice may be on the floor.
Prerequisites
There are no formal
prerequisites. Students are
expected to practice the various rescue techniques on a training
manikin.
