The Neonatal Resuscitation Program ™ (NRP) is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation.  Using a self-study textbook, students learn the causes, prevention, and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia.  The skills session provides opportunities to practice hands-on resuscitation skills in simulation stations.  NRP is the result of the efforts of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) NRP Workgroups and follows the guidelines of the AAP and American Heart Association.

Prerequisites
Health professionals with a working knowledge of the basics of labor & delivery is required.  Students must review the course textbook (Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook, 6th Edition, ISBN 978-1-58110-498-1) and complete the on-line evaluations prior to attending a skills session.
