Approved Continuing Education Programs for NJ EMTs

The NJ Department of Health and Senior Services--Office of EMS (OEMS) must pre-approve all programs that will award continuing education units (CEUs) to NJ EMTs.  The National Registry of EMTs accepts NJ EMT CEUs on a one-for-one basis.  OEMS offers a catalog and  search feature of approved courses on its learming management system (LMS)

A few special elective programs have standing approval from OEMS.  One such example is CPR renewal.  OEMS allows EMT-Bs to use selected professional-level CPR certification  for 2 elective CEUs  toward recertification.  The EMT must keep track of this credit as it is not automatically registered in their LMS record.
