This program has been approved for 16 CEU hours in Section II for Nationally-Registered EMT-Paramedics.  A letter documenting the course length can be provided upon request for other eligible healthcare professionals.  Our offering of this course is approved for 13.58 contact hours for registered nurses. 

Description
The PALS program is a collaboration between the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The goals of the PALS course are to provide the participant with:

• The information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest;
• The information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; and
• The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Prerequisites
Must be an advanced life support provider (physician, PA, nurse, paramedic, respiratory care practitioner) with a valid American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers completion card at the time of the course.
