Description
The Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ), convened a special multidisciplinary subcommittee within its Committee on Biomedical Ethics to develop a statewide protocol and a standardized mechanism to allow physicians to write DNR orders for patients living outside of the hospital or nursing home. This program covers:

Concept and history of medical ethics in EMS resuscitation
Advance directives
Do Not Resuscitate orders
MSNJ policy and out-of-hospital DNR form/bracelet
Procedures for EMS workers encountering DNR documents in the field

Prerequisites
Participants should have an understanding of the NJ EMS system.
