Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
(PHTLS) Combined Provider
Credit
- 16 elective CEUs for NJ EMTs
- 16 hours towards Section II for
Nationally-Registered EMTs at all levels. Nationally-Registered
EMT-Paramedics can apply 16 hours from PHTLS toward their Section 1A or
Section III requirements.
- 16 hours of continuing education credit from CECBEMS
- CEU approval for New Jersey paramedics is
through their MICU Clinical Coordinator.
Description
Prehospital Trauma Life
Support (PHTLS) is the continuing education program developed by
the Prehospital Trauma Life Support Committee of the National
Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in cooperation
with the Committee on Trauma of the American
College of Surgeons
(ACS-COT) and their New Jersey Committee on Trauma. It is a
program
designed to increase the abilities of pre-hospital providers
to assess and manage trauma. Course faculty include professionals
from the Level 1 Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital.
Prerequisites
The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support program is open
to all levels of EMS responders. Hospital personnel involved in
trauma
care are encouraged to attend.

- November 19, 7:00-11:00 p.m. and November 20-21, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Fee(s)
$325.00 which includes tuition, parking, PHTLS
textbook,
and light refreshments.
