Credit
The PHTLS Refresher program is approved for 8
elective
CEUs for NJ EMTs.
PHTLS Refresher also qualifies for 9.9 continuing education hours
through
CECBEMS. Credit is awarded to NJ ALS personnel at the discretion
of their MICU clinical coordinator.
Description
PHTLS is a product
of the National
Association of EMTs (NAEMT) who while working under the American
College of Surgeons and their New Jersey Committee on Trauma,
produced
a program designed to increase the abilities of pre-hospital providers
to assess and manage trauma. Course faculty include professionals
from the Level 1 Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital.
Prerequisites
The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support program is open
to advanced-level EMS responders who have current PHTLS provider
status at the time of the course.
