Description
Prehospital Trauma Life Support PHTLS is the continuing education
program developed by the Prehospital Trauma Life Support Committee of
the National
Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in cooperation
with the Committee on Trauma of the American
College of Surgeons (ACS-COT) and their New Jersey Committee on
Trauma. It is a program designed to increase the abilities of
pre-hospital providers
to assess and manage trauma. Course faculty include professionals
from the Level 1 Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital.
Prerequisites
The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support program is open
to certified EMS responders who have current PHTLS provider
status at the time of the course.
