Emergency Medical Services and Level 1 Trauma Center 2010 Educational Scholarship Program
Robert
Wood Johnson University Hospital is proud to sponsor the Emergency
Medical Service/Level 1 Trauma Center Scholarship Program which has
been established to support the career development of deserving
Emergency Medical Service Providers. Education is a core
component of RWJUH’s Mission and this scholarship program will
facilitate the advancement of those individuals looking to make a
difference in pre-hospital care.
Criteria for the awards are
listed below. Applications/Nominations must be made by an active
Emergency Medical Service provider. The award application
and a copy of the applicant/nominee’s resume must be submitted together
and postmarked/dated by August 31, 2010. The award recipients
will be announced September 30, 2010. Applications may be mailed or

Education Advancement Award: $1500.00
This
award honors an Emergency Medical Technician who is seeking to advance
his/her career in EMS by seeking a higher certification as an Advanced
Life Support Provider.
• Active Emergency Medical Technician for a minimum of two years
• Demonstration of professional development by attending EMS related training and/or certification courses
•
Demonstration of professional development by obtaining instructor
certifications in EMS related courses such as CPR, EMT or other EMS
related courses.
Education Enrichment Award: $250.00
This
award honors an EMS provider who is seeking to increase his/her
knowledge in EMS by completing additional continuing education courses.
• Active EMS provider for a minimum of two years
• Demonstration of professional development by attending EMS related training and/or certification courses
•
Demonstration of professional development by obtaining instructor
certifications in EMS related courses such as CPR, EMT or other EMS
related courses.
Injury Prevention Award: $250.00
This
award honors an EMS provider who demonstrates a commitment within the
past year in the development and promotion of injury prevention
programs at the national, state or local level.
• Active EMS provider for a minimum of two years
• Has presented four injury prevention programs in the past year, or
• Has made significant contributions to the public awareness of injuries and injury prevention
